Volunteers Read Newspapers for WLRH Radio Reading ServiceRadio Reading Service

The WLRH Radio Reading Service broadcasts volunteer readings of newspapers, books and magazines to those unable to read indepedently.

The service airs 24 hours a day on a closed channel and can only be accessed through a receiver ordered through the service or our live webstream.

To have a  listener application and information packet sent to you or someone you know, call (800) 239-9574 or contact us today.

Eligibility
Anyone with a visual impairment or physical disability that makes reading difficult is eligible to receive this service. Certification of the impairment or disability is required either through the Talking Books Library, the Division of Blind Services, a doctor or nurse, or from a staff member of a health or social service agency.

The Readers
Volunteers are the backbone of the Radio Reading Service. Volunteers observe live broadcasts, train by working with seasoned readers, and start as substitutes. They generously donate from two to three hours a week to reading on the air. Consider volunteering today!
