I am a Huntsville native with a BA in English from UAH and a Master’s Degree in Communications from Georgia State University. As a graduate student I interned at WABE, Atlanta’s public radio station, and was offered a part-time job upon graduation. For the next twelve years, I served as a part-time classical music announcer and news anchor for WABE.

Although I got the most satisfaction from working in public radio, I had bills to pay so I worked a variety of jobs in commercial radio. I was the call screener for talker Neal Boortz, a flying traffic reporter and a wacky sidekick on a country station. I studied acting at the Alliance Theatre and was cast in nationally distributed radio theatre productions. I’ve also done numerous commercials and voiceovers.

After living for fifteen years in Atlanta, my husband Scott (whom I met at a WABE fund drive,) son Geordie, three cats, one dog and I moved to Huntsville to escape the rigors of life in the big city. I love working at WLRH because every day is different – whether I’m hosting Morning Edition or Morning Blend, there’s always something new to learn – either from an NPR correspondent or a local member of the arts community. It’s a privilege to be a part of the WLRH team.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy reading, cooking and riding my horse, Velvet.
