Each year Christian Women's Job Corps® holds its Annual Circles Luncheon to raise awareness and money for CWJC and its students. This is a major event coordinated by CWJC and its sponsors at the Von Braun Center in downtown Huntsville.
This year's CWJC CIRCLES Luncheon will be held on Monday, November 5th, at 12 noon at the Von Braun Center in downtown Huntsville. Our 2012 CIRCLES Luncheon speaker will be Chef Roland Mesnier.
Chef Roland Mesnier was born in the tiny village of Bonnay, France. He discovered his vocation by accident on a summer day at the age of twelve. His resume includes roles as pastry chef at various places in the world. In 1979, then First Lady Rosalyn Carter hired Mesnier as Executive Pastry Chef to the White House. He became the longest tenured chef ever to serve there, retiring under President George W. Bush in 2004.
Chef Mesnier has won 18 gold medals, 4 silver and 3 bronze for his pastry creations in competitions around the world. He was awarded a Doctorate of Culinary Arts from the prestigious Johnson & Wales University in South Carolina. He is the author of three books, Dessert University, Basic to Beautiful Cakes and All the Presidents Pastries: Twenty Five Years at the White House, A Memoir.
roland 3Since 2006, he has traveled the U.S. and around the world giving speeches, judging pastry competitions and participating in fundraising events and book singings and much more.
