Whole Backstage Theatre presents NUNSENSE
The Whole Backstage Theatre in Guntersville presents the musical comedy NUNSENSE, the theatre's winter production; with book, music, and lyrics by Dan Goggin. The show is directed by Rich Resler. The talented cast includes Karen Shirley, Valerie Clemons and Miriam Richey from Albertville, Leslie Bofill from Huntsville, and Maggie Criswell from Oneonta.
The show involves five of the 19 surviving Little Sisters of Hoboken who discover that their cook accidentally killed 52 of the other residents of the convent with her tainted vichyssoise while they were off playing bingo. Having buried 48 of their sisters, they have no money in the kitty to pay for the last four burials. With the deceased nuns on ice in the deep freeze, they decide to stage a variety show in the Mount Saint Helen's School auditorium to raise the necessary amount. The entertainment that they present includes solo star turns, madcap dance routines, and an audience quiz.
NUNSENSE performance dates are February 8-10 and 14-17. Weekday and Saturday shows at 7:00 pm, Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm.
Tickets can be purchased on-line at the Whole Backstage web site (www.wholebackstage.com), by calling the theater office at 256-582-7469 (582-SHOW), or in person Mon-Fri 9 am to 3 pm at the theater located at 1120 Rayburn Avenue in Guntersville.
