Alabama Senator Arthur Orr will be discussing his legislation, SB 118, and state funding with parents and advocates for gifted children from across North Alabama.
There will be a combined meeting of the North Alabama Association of Gifted Children and the Shoals Association of Gifted Children. The meeting will be Monday, February 24 at 6 PM in the auditorium of the Decatur Utilities Department at 1002 Central Parkway SW, Decatur, Alabama.
Parents and advocates for gifted children from across North Alabama are invited to participate in this exciting event. State Senator Orr will be discussing his legislation and the impact it will have on gifted education in Alabama. His Senate Bill 118 would offer grants to public schools to create new educational programs for gifted students. Nancy Johnson, Gifted Specialist from the Alabama Department of Education, will be at the meeting to guide a question and answer session about gifted education. Parents will be able to ask questions about gifted education and how they can help their children succeed in today’s public education environment.
