Red Ribbon Awards Breakfast

On Friday, December 6, Community Faith Partners will observe World AIDS Day in the Madison County area with the annual Red Ribbon Awards Breakfast that is open to the public. The Red Ribbon Awards Breakfast will be held from 7:00-8:30 a.m. in the Boone-Lacy Fellowship Hall at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville. While honoring AIDS activism, participants will have an opportunity to enjoy a hearty breakfast and inspirational music, and hear Rev. Rae Lewis-Thornton, an Emmy Awarding winning AIDS activist from Chicago, IL. Thornton represented the “new face of AIDS” after gracing the cover of Essence Magazine in 1994. She has been living with HIV for more than 36 years. Thrive Alabama will be on-site to offer no-cost HIV testing in their mobile unit from 8:00-10:30 a.m. Results are available in one minute.
