If one may describe a personality as “soaring,” it might apply to The Gliding of the Eagle in the Skies, written by Peter Eötvös, Gregory Vajda’s conducting and composition teacher. Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5 could be thought of as exhibiting Nordic splendor, while Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini remains an old and familiar friend. Young talented pianist Alexander Korsantia has the personality that brings it all together.
