You can join us at the Round Table’s first annual symposium: The West – The Beginning of the End. Jointly sponsored by the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, the symposium will be held at the library’s main facility at 915 Monroe Street SW, Huntsville, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM on November 2. We have a full day of activities planned that will appeal to the whole family, Civil War buffs and novices alike. We have a full slate of featured speakers running throughout the day: Thomas Flagel, Eric Jacobson, Peggy Ann Towns, Pete Sparks, and Greg Biggs, and a panel discussion with Q&A to close the day out. There will be a fee to attend the featured speakers: This is a single fee that will gain access to all of the featured speakers and the closing panel discussion. There is NO fee for the floor speakers and other activities in the library’s open areas during the day. The admission fee is ONLY for the featured speakers. There will be reenactors in period uniforms and dress all around the library. These will include Rhea Cole, Winter Forests portraying General Ormsby Mitchel, members of the 19th Alabama Infantry, and likely some others mingling around the library.
