You can discover over 20 historic places of worship that have a significant impact on Downtown Huntsville and the State of Alabama. We will explore the original site of the Oldest Negro Congregation in the State of Alabama, the location where a minister reportedly, baptisted 3,000 souls, the oldest Presbyterian Church in the State of Alabama, a church built of native stone from Monte Sano Mountain, the oldest synagogue in Alabama in continuous use, the site where Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke in 1962, the congregation organized in 1885 by college president William Hooper Councill, along with more fascinating facts for each site of worship.
