Madison Science Teacher Wins Major Award

It’s been called the ‘Oscars of Teaching€ and this year Horizon sixth-grade teacher Amara Alexander was Alabama’s winner of the prestigious Milken Educator Award. She was recognized for her commitment to her students, colleagues and the community. Ms. Alexander took a few minutes away from the classroom to talk with Ginny Kennedy about her surprise win, and what inspires and invigorates her teaching.
