New Shelter Offers New Hope for Area Pets

Monday, June 5, 2017

Many animal shelters in the south are at capacity. Up north, there’s a shortage of adoptable pets. One rescue group in Huntsville, Friends of Rescue, has been transporting pets to the Chicago area. Chicago-based rescue group, Felines and Canines now hopes to expand their efforts by constructing a shelter to house animals locally until they can hit the road. Bethany Marbut, Executive Director of Felines and Canines Rescue Center, tells Ginny Kennedy how this project started and what still needs to be done.
