Brett is a 15 year veteran of the public broadcasting network. He's won more than 30 journalism awards, including a national Edward R. Murrow award and RTDNA's international UNITY award for excellence in coverage of diversity issues. He was also lucky enough to spend several years recording commentaries from legendary storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham, which will always stand as his all-time favorite thing about working in public radio.
Brett is also a musician, an outdoors enthusiast, a certified landscaper and a devoted family man. He enjoys donuts, sitting on the porch and taking 'adventure drives' whenever possible. He hosts Morning Edition every Friday and produces the Sundial Writer's Corner, the Tennessee Valley Explorer and The Blast.
