Ginny Kennedy is a Huntsville native and graduate of Randolph School. She has an undergraduate degree in English from UAH and a Master's in Communication from Georgia State University in Atlanta. As a grad student, Ginny interned at Atlanta's public radio station WABE and was offered a weekend job. In addition to hosting classical music and news programs on public radio, Ginny has worked as a call screener and radio talk show producer, a wacky sidekick on a country music station, and a flying traffic reporter. After moving back to Huntsville in 1999, she began working part-time at WLRH as a classical music host. In 2010, she was named "Best Anchor, Radio" by the Alabama Associated Press and in 2014 won the Judge's Award of Merit for Best Radio Personality from the Alabama Broadcaster's Association. Ginny enjoys her job because she gets to meet and talk to so many interesting people in the community and give a voice to individuals who might otherwise not be heard. Ginny has one son, Geordie, who is a student at the University of Montevallo, two dogs, three cats, a changing number of foster kittens and a horse named Art.
Ginny hosts Morning Edition Monday through Thursday, and also hosts the Friday request edition of Morning Blend.
