FRI North Alabama Bike Summit at the Von Braun Center North Hall. Workshops include "Building A Bicycle Friendly Community". Spring City Cycling Club leads a scenic bike tour of Huntsville Saturday 10am. Leaves from Bicycles Etc. on Meridian St.
FRI Medi Gras Bash at the Jackson Center, Cummings Research Park. Live music and food. Proceeds benefit Madison Hospital. Begins 6:30pm.
FRI Mardi Gras Party w. Les Kerr and the Bayou Band at the Princess Theatre, downtown Decatur. Begins 7:30pm.
FRI Dixie Derby Girls 'Gone Karaoke' at Copper Top, Huntsville.
FRI Epic Comedy Hour at Flying Monkey Theatre, Lowe Mill, Huntsville.
SAT FREE Family Concert "Peter and The Wolf" (and Mozart) by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra at US Space and Rocket Center. This concert is open to the public. Children's activities begin 9:30am. Concert 11am.
SAT Inaugural Mardi Gras Grande Parade in downtown Huntsville. Begins 5pm.
SAT FREE Family Concert "Peter and The Wolf" (and Mozart) by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra at Asbury United Methodist Church, Madison. This concert is open to the public. Children's activities begin 3:30pm. Concert 5pm.
SAT Russian Mardi Gras 'Maslenitsa' at Hogan Family YMCA. Enjoy Slavic foods, cultural programs, art classes and other entertainment. Dress in traditional Eastern European garb and get a door prize. There is no admission fee, for children under 5 and YMCA members.
SUN FREE Family Concert "Peter and The Wolf" (and Mozart) by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra at First United Methodist, Athen AL. This concert is open to the public. Concert 2pm.
TUES Fat Tuesday w. Brass Band of Huntsville at Flying Monkey Arts Theatre, Lowe Mill. Live Mardi Gras music and entertainment. Open to the public. Begins 7pm.
WED (3/5) Beppe Gambetta at Tangled  String Studio, Lowe Mill. A rare chance to see this world-reknowned guitarist. Admission is charged
FRI (3/7) Amy McCarley and Daphne Lee Martin at Flying Monkey Arts TheatreLowe Mill.
CLOSING "Da Vinci" at the US Space and Rocket Center. Last weekend for this exhibit, which features a deconstruction of the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.
ONGOING "Icons In Transformation" at Church of the Nativity, downtown Huntsville. This exhibit has toured Europe and the US, and features 90 pieces of contemporary religious imagery. Open Tues-Fri 1-3pm.
