FRI/SAT/SUN Athens Storytelling Festival in downtown Athens, AL. Features some of the top storytellers in the country. A Top 20 Southeastern Tourism Society event.
FRI/SAT/SUN Dr. Osbourne's Magical Laboratory at Fantasy Playhouse. Family-friendly comedy magic show. Fri 7pm. Sat 2pm & 7pm. Sun 2pm.
FRI (local music) Oto Benga, The Dead Rangers, Flux Capacitor Overdrive @ Copper Top, Huntsville.
SAT BOOtanica at Huntsville Botanical Garden. Games, crafts, hay rides, pumpkin decorating, Steve the DJ and more. Parade of costumes at 11:30am. 10am-2pm.
SAT Pizza Party Massacre at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment. A demented recreation of the former kid's restaurant, Showbiz Pizza. Prizes of live performances. Rated PG-13. 8pm-12am.
SAT Howl-O-Scream by AIDS Action Coalition. This rolling downtown pub crawl ends in a giant Halloween Party. Three tours. Admission fee. The first leaves Furniture Factory at 7pm.
SAT 5th annual Cosplay Masquerade Ball at Huntsville Madison County Public Librarymain branch. Middle and high schoolers can win prizes for the best 'cosplays' and party. 8pm-12am.
SAT (local music) Dirty Swagger, Tiger Hellacide, Creeplist @ Copper Top, Huntsville.
MON Finale Fright Night movie series at Huntsville Madison County Public Library main branch. Enjoy the 1963 version of "The Haunting". Open to the public. 6pm.
WED/THU/FRI/SAT (Nov. 2nd) Weeden Spirit House at Weeden House Museum. Hear untold stories of real spirits and ghosts. Admission fee. Begins each night 6pm
THU (local music) Cancerslug, Go-Go Killers @ Copper Top, Huntsville.
FRI (Nov.1st) Day of the Dead at Lowe Mill and Flying Monkey Arts. Face painting and other children's activities, sugar skulls, displays, shrines and lots of art.
