Tennessee Valley events for the weekend of Nov. 1, 2013

FRI Day of the Dead at Lowe Mill and Flying Monkey Arts. Face painting and other children's activities, sugar skulls, displays, shrines and lots of art. You can use the public altar from noon-8pm. Other shrines on display until 10pm.
FRI Concerts on the Dock FINALE w. Blu Lite Band at Lowe Mill. Open to the public, though parking donation is suggested. 6-9pm
FRI (local music) Johnathon Laird @ Copper Top, Huntsville.
SAT Da Vinci - The Genius opens at the US Space and Rocket Center. Interact with life-size replicas and recreations of the artistic and scientific principles discovered by Da Vinci. Runs through March.
SAT Carribean Celebration w. KUSH at Lowe Mill, 2st floor connector. 6pm
SAT (local music) Dawn Osborne Band at Voodoo Lounge, downtown Huntsville.
SAT (local music) The Guilt Ridden Troubadors at Humphrey's, downtown Huntsville.
SAT (local music) Evil Eye, The Boneyard Mafia, Far From Friends at Copper Top, Huntsville.
SAT Hasta La Vista SC w. Aunt Sofonda & Bongo Menance @ Flying Monkey Arts. 8pm.
SAT Hilltop Arts Festival at downtown Elkmont, AL. Children's activities, food, art displays. Benefits Elkmont High School Library. 9am-6pm.
SAT Operation Green Team Family Club @ Hayes Nature Preserve. Family fun, hikes, stories and crafts. Open to the public. 10am
SAT Fall Train Ride w. North Alabama Railroad Museum. Two special tours take you on a five mile run to see the Fall colors. Reservations suggested. Rides at 10am and 1pm.
SUN Letters From The Birmingham Jail at Lee High School's main stage. Presented by Rosetta James Foundation. Open to the public. 3pm
SUN Elkton Fall Foliage and Heritage Tour at Elkton, TN. Tour five historic churches near Elkton TN and enjoy the Fall colors. Starts at The Ole Smith Store, 7101 Elkton Pike. 1-5pm.
