Rocket City Weather Fest will provide the atmospheric and related sciences community in the region an opportunity to educate the public on weather-related phenomena, emphasize safety and preparedness, and showcase scientific research that takes place right here in the Tennessee Valley. The public will have the opportunity to talk with members of local television media, National Weather Service representatives, NASA scientists, UAH researchers, area storm spotters/chasers, and others! There will also be chase and research vehicles, as well as other weather and emergency response equipment on display. Children will be able to take part in activities such as getting in front of a TV Green-Screen, watching a weather video on the “Roaming Dome” from Sci-Quest, and the opportunity to learn about weather phenomena through hands-on activities. There will also be weather-related talks going on during the event including one on Storm-Spotting from the National Weather Service. The event is free and open to the public.
