Sundial Writers Corner (TN Valley writers podcast)
The Sundial Writers Corner is one of WLRH's longest running programs and greatest traditions. For more than 20 years, Sundial has featured prose and poetry submitted by talented Tennessee Valley wordsmiths. Each weekday at 9:30am during Morning Blend and 6:44pm during All Things Considered, a different voice from your community is heard in “The Writers Corner.” Enjoy commentaries, short stories, poems and everything in between, told in the voice of the author. Many of our writers have received awards at the state and national level, while others are exhibiting their creative abilities for the first time.

Fourteen-year-old Johnathan Hampton was awarded First Place in the Junior Short Story Division of the 2015 Huntsville Literary Association's Young Writer's Contest. He's the son of John and Vananda Hampton, and has a big brother, Zach.
This morning, we'll hear the First Place winners in the Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary Poetry Divisions of the Huntsville Literary Association's Young Writers' Contest. First up at the WLRH microphone is Katie Ingram who was awarded First Place in the Lower Elementary Poetry Division of the HLA's 2015 contest.
Aparna Bhooshanan was the Upper Elementary Poetry winner in the 2015 HLA's Young Writer's Contest with her submission "Celestial Grace." She is the daughter of Sri and Parvathy Bhooshanan and has an older sister, Meenu.
Rebecca Moore is in the SUNDIAL Writer's Corner today - when she and her husband decided to take their dog along on a trip to a big city up north, they were flooded with lasting impressions, as was the dog!
