What is a WLRH Day Sponsorship? Day Sponsorships are a fun and engaging way to support WLRH. With a membership contribution of $200, contributors are entitled to “sponsor” a day of programming on WLRH including having their personal message read no less than six to eight times on the air on the date of their choice. How often will my Day Sponsorship be read on the air? Barring emergency, your WLRH Day Sponsorship will be read no less than six to eight times on the date of your choice. What if the date I choose is not available? WLRH makes every effort to accommodate date specific requests, however if your date is unavailable please have a second choice in mind. How much advance notice do you require to get my message on the air? We prefer a minimum of 1-2 weeks advance notice to allow time for your message to be approved and scheduled. If you have a specific date in mind we strongly recommend contacting us as soon as possible to ensure that we can reserve your date. How long can my Day Sponsorship message be? Day Sponsorship messages should be 15 seconds or less when read in an even, unhurried manner. What kinds of messages can I have in a Day Sponsorship? Day Sponsorships should be personal and/or celebratory in nature. They may not include promotional, commercial or controversial messages of any kind. Language referencing political campaigns, candidacies or legislation will not be accepted. Because Day Sponsorship messages are intended to be personal, messages may not include any information that implies a "call to action" from our listening audience. Therefore, Day Sponsorships may not include contact information of any kind (for example: addresses, phone numbers, or web addresses. Individuals who desire to promote nonprofit, community, cultural events are encouraged to submit a Public Service Announcement. Individuals may recognize non-profit organizations, but their message may not be promotional in nature. Messages may generally support an organization's work, or recognize its staff or volunteers, but may not provide descriptive or qualitative language about the organization. For example, the following would be acceptable, "Today's programming on WLRH is made possible in part by listeners like you and by Kit Marlowe, in recognition of the staff and volunteers of the American Red Cross." Churches may become Day Sponsors to welcome new ministers or celebrate anniversaries, however they may not evangelize, proselytize or announce services. The only time when church locations may be mentioned is when the name might be confused with another church. Businesses may become Day Sponsors to salute grand openings and anniversaries or to salute employees on an accomplishment – either an individual employee on a birthday, etc or a group of employees on achieving a milestone. Businesses desiring to promote their organization are encouraged to become a WLRH underwriter. WLRH reserves the right of final approval for all Day Sponsorship messages.
