Grandmother of Juneteenth Brings Vision of Unity to Huntsville!

Opal Lee, affectionately known as "the grandmother of Juneteenth," talks with Katy Ganaway about her life's work educating folks far and wide about the Juneteenth holiday. You'll hear about her nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize and her plans if she wins, regaining the land where her childhood home once sat and was burned by a white mob and plans for a 50,0000-square-foot Juneteenth museum in Fort Worth, Texas, set to open around June 19th, (the date of the Juneteenth holiday) in 2024.

Opal Lee visits the Rocket City the weekend of August 27-29, with multiple speaking engagements... You'll be able to meet Opal Lee, learn about and obtain a copy of her book, "Juneteenth: A Children's Story," hear about her journey to the White House to get Juneteenth signed into law as a federal holiday, and so much more.
