Brett Tannehill

General Manager / Director of Radio

Brett is a 27-year veteran of public television and radio. He's won more than 30 journalism awards, including a national Edward R. Murrow award and RTDNA's international UNITY award for excellence in coverage of diversity issues. He was also lucky enough to spend several years recording commentaries from legendary storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham, which stands as one of his all-time favorite things about working in broadcasting.

Brett is also a musician, an outdoors enthusiast, a certified landscaper and a father. He enjoys donuts, sitting on the porch and taking 'adventure drives' whenever possible. He co-produces the Sundial Writer's Corner and Valley Sounds, WLRH's local music show. Brett also served as chairman of the inaugural Huntsville's Music Advisory Board, which works to improve the infrastructure and community awareness of the local performing arts scene. He also serves on the Community Foundation's Google Digital Inclusion Grant Committee.
