Henry Owings, founder of Atlanta-based independent music champion Chunklet Industries, joins us in this episode of Arts Underground.
In the early ‘90s, Henry created a magazine based in Athens, Georgia, under the name ‘Chunklet’- a name he established in the underground music scenes of Athens and Atlanta, Georgia.
He then expanded Chunklet Industries and established Chunklet Graphic Control, producing records, booking music shows, managing tours, designing album covers…
Among Henry’s most prized projects are two books he published that commemorate past relics of the Atlanta and Athens, Georgia music scenes: Plus One Athens and Plus One Atlanta.
Now, he’s collecting music memorabilia in Alabama to publish a new book, dedicated to the whole state’s music history. Vertical House Records in Huntsville is his next stop on April 29, 2023.
