In this installment of our series, Independent Grooves, we'll visit Sean Hale, owner of Black Rose Records.

Black Rose is an intimate space where Sean keeps a thoroughly-curated selection of vinyl, CDs and other music-related memorabilia for folks to peruse and purchase. The tunes permeating his shop range from De La Soul to The Go-Go's and other excellent picks in-between. Sean says his DIY dream was made possible thanks to some friends who helped build the counter and bins in the shop, and of course, his wife Sarah's encouragement to persevere in his search for retail space.

Check out the Arts Underground page for a playlist of music you may have heard in this episode, plus more installments of Independent Grooves: an Arts Underground series spotlighting the Tennessee Valley's local indie record stores and their owners who give them their own unique flavor.
