On Saturday, March 8th, Decatur’s Orchestra Sul Ponticello will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Founded by the late Viljar Weiman, a native of Estonia, the orchestra will continue his legacy with a concert featuring Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Overture, Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto and the Symphony Number 2 of Johannes Brahms. Pianist Joseph Fleetwood, who is from Scotland and now lives in Decatur, and the Estonian guest conductor Henri Aavik, who is making his U. S. debut, spoke with Ginny Kennedy about the upcoming concert and their musical lives. The concert is Saturday at 7 at Austin High School in Decatur. Tickets are available here.
