This month, and throughout the year, WLRH features the voices of people of color. Check out these local events to celebrate Black History Month!

An Evening with Wil Haygood at Huntsville Museum of Art. Meet acclaimed biographer, Pulitzer finalist, award-winning author and reporter on Thursday, February 1st, 5:30 - 9 PM.

African Americans in Education and the Arts at Burritt on the Mountain.
Experience life as a student at a Rosenwald Schoolhouse on February 10th, 2024, 10 AM - 4 PM.

UAH Department of Music Constellation Concert Series: Songs of Love, Sorrow, Hope, & Healing. Featuring Afro-Creole Songs & Negro Spirituals on Thursday, February 15th at 7:30 PM.

Backstage Black Arts Pop-Up at The Orion Amphitheater. A pop-up gallery experience showcasing talented Black artists in the Huntsville community on Saturday, February 24, 6 - 9 PM.

Black History Trivia Meet-Up at VFW Post 2702 (2900 N. Memorial Parkway). A family-friendly afternoon of food, fun, and trivia to celebrate Black History Month on Saturday, February 24th at 12 PM.

Scottsboro Boys Exhibit at HMCPL. All through February 2024, the Huntsville Madison County Public Library invites folks to take another look at the Scottsboro Boys case with a special exhibit on display. It provides a deep, informative look into the arrests, trials, global impact and local connections of this story.
