Genetic Testing Provides Answers and Assistance for Local Family

The Double Helix Dash is set for April 2nd, 2024

The Kennamer family searched for a year to uncover the reason behind their son Kash’s health issues which included premature cataracts. A referral to the Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology led to a diagnosis of PTEN hamartoma tumor syndrome which can lead to cancer. Kash’s mom, Hannah Kennamer joined Genetic Counselor Jada Pugh to tell their story and share details of the upcoming Double Helix Dash. You can find more information about PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome at https://ptenfoundation.org. HudsonAlpha.org offers a look inside the organization’s numerous efforts. You can sign up for the Double Helix Dash here: https://donate.hudsonalpha.org/event/2024-double-helix-dash/e487239.
