(Moderate / Around 2.5 hours / 2.25 miles) This hike hosted by Land Trust of North Alabama offers something a little bit different. The hike will begin with a visit to the Three Caves on Monte Sano Nature Preserve. Normally closed to the public, the gates will be open for this hike. After looking around for a bit (we won’t actually go into the caves as falling rocks make that area unsafe). We’ll explore the “bowl” area outside the cave openings. Then we’ll walk around Three Caves Loop before heading north on Alms House Trail. A short walk on Young-Kennedy Trail and Wagon Trail will bring us back to the Alms House Trail returning towards the trailhead.
