Huntsville Concert Band Fall Concert, "A Nod to England"
The Huntsville Concert Band presents music from England, including works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gordon Jacob, Edward Elgar, and Kenneth J. Alford; selections from the film Pride & Prejudice in celebration of the Jane Austen semiquincentennial; and many familiar tunes by Lennon & McCartney and Broadway's Bricusse & Newley. Guest soloist Jonathan Warburton will be featured in the US premiere of Concerto for Bass Trombone & Band by Ian L. Mitchell. John Hightower of WLRH's Brass, Reeds, and Percussion will serve as narrator and master of ceremonies. The concert begins at 7 PM on Tuesday, September 30 in the Columbia High School auditorium.
