Valley Sounds is a weekly spotlight on original music created and performed Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley.

This week on Valley Sounds (#281), we finish previewing bands playing the Whistle Stop Festival and Microwave Dave Day with music from Carver Commodore, The Silver Silos, Microwave Dave, Robby Eichman and Amber Cavanaugh. We’ll also have new music from Alex Hendrix, an interview with The NEIGHBORS, and a little Halloween fun from Aunt Sofonda. Brett is a 25-year veteran of public television and radio. He's won more than 30 journalism awards, including a national Edward R. Murrow award and RTDNA's international UNITY award for excellence in coverage of diversity issues. He was also lucky enough to spend several years recording commentaries from legendary storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham, which stands as one of his all-time favorite things about working in broadcasting.
