Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theater & Academy presents A Wrinkle in Time, Mother’s Day weekend only May 9th through 11th. Mountain Valley Arts Council will host its Spring Concerts in the Park at Errol Allan Park in downtown Guntersville on Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:30 PM starting April 17th and running through May 22nd. There will be music from a variety of North Alabama Bands - JED Eye, Foster, Barefoot Blues, Common Thread, Emily Joseph Band, and Rally Stripe Band. In honor of Bee Day (on May 20th), discover nature and poetry with the Land Trust of North Alabama and WLRH! On Saturday, May 17th you can register to take a short hike at the Blevins Gap Nature Preserve in Huntsville. Observe spring among the trees, walk with us to the overlook and Marie’s Garden, our pollinator garden completed in the fall of 2024. As you take time in the garden to rest and discover our native plants blooming, you can meditate on the bees and other pollinators that use this garden. You’ll have this time to craft a Bee Day haiku with an opportunity to share your creation if you choose.

What’s a haiku? A Japanese poem with three lines and seventeen syllables (five in line one, seven in line two, and five in line three) traditionally evoking images of the natural world.

You're invited to explore nature in full bloom at the Historic Decatur Associations annual garden tour May 18th from 2 pm to 5 pm. How does a composer find their voice? Rocket City New Music explores this with Learn to Fly — a composer portrait of Chris Cerrone. At 7:30 PM On Thursday, May 22nd at The Electric Belle at Stove House musicians from all over the country will give us a celebration of collaboration, mentorship, and musical evolution. You can set up at a table, then walk around, or if you don't have plants yet, you can walk around and shop or take from the free room. We ask that you please mark your plants as "for sale", "trade" or "free", so there's no confusion.

The anxiety-free room is also known as the free room. There are tables and everything there is free to take- no conversation required. Concessions sold; please no outside food. Zero drama, too.

GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Steve Earle, a defining voice in Americana, folk, and country music for over four decades, will perform at the historic Princess Theatre on May 25. The 21st Annual Cigar Box Guitar Festival will be held Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1st. This event includes a Casino night, workshops and swing dancing with live music. Some of Huntsville’s and Muscle Shoals’ biggest names will perform under Orion’s Apollo Dome. Vendors, food trucks and kids activities are open to the public. The Muscle Shoals Sailing Club is offering a sailing seminar May 31st to June 1st. This includes both classroom and on-the-water instruction at the club site on Wilson Lake near Killen, Alabama.
