YAA GYASI, HOMEGOING, AND THE POWER OF KNOWING OUR ROOTS -- Teacher / Public workshop hosted by Alabama Humanities Alliance

In partnership with Alabama Public Television, Alabama Humanities Alliance offers this half-day workshop to encourage Alabamians to see themselves as connected to (and separated from) one another in ways that go further back than most of us can really imagine -- the sort of ways that Yaa Gyasi researched and imagined when crafting her novel HOMEGOING. Presenters will include Dr. Kwaku Gyasi and Mr. William Hampton. The first 25 participating teachers will receive professional development credits, along with a copy of the book.
