UAH's professional summer Shakespeare company, Huntsville Shakespeare is back for its 8th season, at the Huntsville Botanical Garden July 25 through August 9 for performances of Macbeth, a tragedy about the corruption of power, and The Comedy of Errors, a comedy about a set of identical twins separated at birth. The 3rd Annual Summer Writing & Arts Summit, hosted by the Athens State University Writing Center, will take place June 26–27. Local authors and poets will facilitate workshops, and local artists will offer additional sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their work. I.M.P. Huntsville presents The Sound of Music this summer at the Mainstage Theatre at Lee High School June 26th through 29th! The Sound of Music features songs composed by the Tony Award winning duo Rodgers and Hammerstein, and is based on the true story of the Von Trapp Family Singers. The musical tells the story of a novice named Maria who works as a governess for a widower's children while she decides if she should become a nun.
