The Greene Street Market at Nativity opens for its 15th season beginning May 1. It will take place every Thursday afternoon starting at 3 pm through the end of October. You're invited to meet the farmers who grow your food, listen to live music, and pick out a dinner to take home! The Mid-South Woodcarving Show and Competition is one of the Southeast's largest woodcarving events. More than 30 well-known wood carvers and turners will showcase their work and participate in juried competitions in multiple categories. This free event will allow visitors to meet carvers, ask questions, and see the outstanding talent and skills of carvers. There will be carving and painting demonstrations throughout both days. You can sign up for free classes provided by North Alabama Woodcarvers Association members beginning in 2026.
The North Alabama Woodcarvers Association will host the 41st Annual Mid-South Woodcarving Show and Competition on Friday and Saturday, October 31 and November 1. The Show is at Trinity United Methodist Church on Airport Road in Huntsville. Carvings by artists from Alabama, Tennessee and other states will be on exhibit. The public is invited to attend. Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death and the United States and affects 103,000 Alabamians. In more that 600 communities nationwide, people are joining together to fight Alzheimer's disease. This year’s North Alabama Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be on Saturday, November 1st at the Double Helix Trail at Hudson Alpha at 9 am. Information at alz.org/walk.
Alabama A&M University and partners are gearing up for the next North Alabama Ag Expo. This event will take place on Saturday, November 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at AAMU’s Agribition Center located at 4925 Moores Mill Road in Huntsville.
Admission is free! Participants will enjoy a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, exhibits, vendors, including food trucks. Do not miss out on giveaways, door prizes, music and free food! The first 100 kids receive a free t-shirt, and the first 500 people get a free lunch.

English as a second language classes will begin August 6 at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church. Classes are every Wednesday morning from 930 to noon. Instruction includes grammar and conversation for all levels as well as preparation for taking the US citizenship test. Childcare for preschoolers and some transportation is provided. SPARKLE Studio will close for 2 hours every Wednesday for a FREE community gathering focused on witchy friendship, sharing, and networking. We now meet in Studio 1047, UAH Project Space, on the first floor of the north building; park by Door 2. Arrive any time between 4 and 7, and feel free to bring adult beverages or snacks to share. The meeting ends at 7 when Lowe Mill closes to the public. What we do is up to you—share skills, craft, relax, or suggest new ideas. Bring a loving spirit, as our space is all-inclusive and welcoming to everyone.

The North Alabama Mental Health Coalition meets monthly at WellStone in Huntsville, bringing together service providers, advocates, law enforcement, educators, and community members. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m., offering updates, collaborative discussion, and guest speakers on mental health topics. Presented by Little Orange Fish. The 2025 "Adventures in Engineering" STEM event, hosted by ASMDA, takes place on November 13th on the UAH Campus and includes a tour of Redstone Arsenal. The event is open to 11th and 12th grade students in North Alabama with lunch included. Registration is open to the first 500 students, through November 6th, Information is available at ASMDA.org.
